The work
Analysis and writing shaped to what each organisation actually needs — depth where it's warranted, brevity where it isn't, and output that arrives ready to use.
Research and analysis
Situations worked through in depth and turned into something usable — a short decision-ready brief, a substantial report, or a forward read of how a situation is likely to develop.
Essays, speeches and commentary
Under my own name or a principal's — written from a brief, a set of notes or a conversation, rather than from an existing draft.
Senior editorial direction
Editorial structure and judgment brought to material an organisation already has, turning substance in hand into publishable form.
AI in research and analysis
The AI research systems my own practice runs on — source monitoring, structured research, knowledge systems — built and run day to day.
I am developing this into advisory work for organisations applying the same tools to research and analysis, without giving up rigour or verified sourcing.
This is the range rather than a fixed list. Most work is built around a particular question, and the form follows from it — some commissioned one piece at a time, some running continuously where a subject is worth following. Sometimes it is simply a conversation.
Who it suits
Organisations that need senior-level output without a standing analyst function — development finance institutions, funds and investors with regional exposure, specialist firms, think tanks and foundations — where what matters is judgment and clarity rather than headcount.
